How to transport roll covers safely.
Packaging:
• Use proper cases fitted with stable journal supports
to protect roll covers from mechanical damage.
• Place the rolls on the journals so that the roll covers touch
neither floors nor walls.
• Never lift a roll with a crane within the covering area.
We recommend hoisting the roll by both journals with the
appropriate equipment. This avoids damaging the roll cover’s face.
• Avoid jerking movements, impacts and jarring.
Temperature stability:
• Transporting and storing coated rolls at temperatures below 32°F
call for special precautions since the roll covers will become brittle
and extremely susceptible to mechanical damage.
• Use either special anti-frost packaging or a thermocontainer for
temperatures below 32°F. This helps prevent frost from damaging
the covers.
• Avoid extreme changes in temperature by using sufficient box
insulation. Temperature changes may not fluctuate more than 40°F
within any 24-hour period.
